E'Claire de Lis (2021 gray registered Hanoverian mare) by Escher DFEN (Escudo II)/Fuerst Gotthard/Kalypso)

An absolutely stunning young mare, with talent for a variety of disciplines, E’Claire is the last foal of our foundation mare, Fleur de Lis R. 

Although her sire, Escher DFEN, was a 16.1 hh refined stallion by Escudo II, E’Claire has  inherited her dam’s height, presence, and dynamic movement, with a bit of refinement from her sire. E’Claire has an expected height of 17 hh+. 

"Fleur de Lis", E'Claire's dam, was a very special mare, a true matriarch, who provided a beautiful grounding and stabililzing energy for the herd. She was always in charge but never in an aggressive way. She would be the first horse to accept a new mare into the herd, with the rest of the horses soon following her lead. She was an excellent mother, and E'Claire has inherited much of her gentleness, with lovely presence and grace.

Fleur was a career broodmare, an incredible dam to several wonderful foals, and no doubt would have excelled in sport. Fleur was bred to jump, but her natural movement was as dynamic as any upper-level dressage prospect, with a power that was simply stunning. Fleur was of the older Hanoverian type, combining the bloodlines of Furioso II and Gotthard, she had substantial bone, and a strong heart. 

Escher is a son of Escudo II, 1994 Hanoverian licensing champion and star of the Celle stallion parade in Germany. Every Escudo II foal we have bred could jump exceptionally well, regardless of who the dam was. Escudo II could perform stunts at liberty, including completing a first level dressage course without a rider, directed on the ground wearing only surcingle and bridle. He contributes refinement, intelligence and athleticism to his offspring, with a kind temperament. He has produced 10 licensd sons, several Grand Prix show jumpers, 13 state premium mares.

E'Claire has a special place in the herd, and in our hearts, so we will be quite selective when matching her with a new owner.
