Toni is a pharmacist, who works in healthcare IT. She is an experienced breeder of warmblood sport horses and a devoted student of the horse. In 2005 the farm was established, and 4 Hanoverian broodmares were purchased to begin the journey. In those days, located in the mountains of Steamboat Springs, the environment for raising horses proved to be a challenge due to the lengthy winters, so the farm was moved to the Fort Collins area in 2011. Since then the program has grown into a harmonious herd of 7 broodmares, 2 foals, a few young horses, sport horse prospects, rescues, retired horses, young colts and a stallion purchased in 2022 as a foundation sire of our colored warmblood breeding program. His training will begin this year. Beginning in 2024, we take a break from breeding and will focus on our young horse development program, sport horse rehabilitation and rehoming, and offering custom breeding for our clients.
Fran Latane of Lillicrest farm in Osseo, Wisconsin, and "Tempi" (Escudo II/Pablito/Kalpyso)
Tempi was bred on our farm, foaled in 2008, a daughter of our foundation mare, Pure Poetry R. For any horse that we breed, our number one priority is finding the best possible match for the horse with its future owner or rider, and whenever possible, a forever home. For a successful partnership, we take pride in taking an individual horse's temperament and athletic ability and aligning it with its future rider.
USF facility consists of 2 barns, large paddock areas with shelters, and divided areas of open pasture for turnout, riding, or spending time with the horses. We have a small outdoor training arena for ground work and foundation training. The barns are set up for mares and foals, with 16 x 16 foaling stalls with Stable Comfort flooring and 12 x 16 stalls or individual paddocks for horses requiring special care. All horses have access to shelter in inclimate weather. We provide overnight stalls for geriatric horses in our care, or full time stall board for any horse requiring special care. All of the horses are fed a high quality forage based diet of free choice grass hay, Mountain Sunrise forage pellets w/ Horsetech balancer, electrolytes, additional herbal supplements and feed as individually required.
